KB-Group expands

Installation, service and operation of submersible cages

We are strengthening our leading position as a provider of diving services to deep farming operations

In response to the increasing demand for diving services to deep farming operations, the KB-Group, now part of the Smir Group, is taking a leading role in meeting the needs of the aquaculture industry. With investments in two additional state-of-the-art boats, the KB-Group is prepared to consolidate its position as the leading service provider in deep farming operations.

This investment is a direct response to the growing trend of using submersible technologies within the aquaculture sector. With an increasing number of salmon being farmed in such environments, maintaining optimal conditions for the fish throughout the entire production process is crucial. This places special demands on service and maintenance work carried out at depth, far below the surface, to provide optimal fish welfare.

“Our goal is to be the leading provider of deep farming services in Norway. In order to meet the increasing demand for this type of operation, we are expanding our team from 15 to around 40 employees, including approximately 25 new divers who will undergo the KB school’s diver certification scheme. This will give them cutting-edge expertise in the field and make them equipped to deliver top-notch services to our clients.

The KB-Group has no ambition to become the largest service company, but rather the best within specific segments. This focused approach ensures that the company can maintain high quality and precision in the services it provides, while also meeting the evolving needs of the aquaculture industry.
